The Crucifixion

The crucifixion of Christ was a brutal event. It was an act of appeasement on Pilot’s part and the result was the suffering and humiliation of the Savior of the world. Each step of Jesus’ punishment was done strategically and with the intent to exact as much pain as humanly possible. Along the way different people are pulled into the fray. An unexpecting bystander is pulled  from the crowd and told to help carry the cross, a thief finds redemption, a mother watches her son be crucified and a Roman Centurion declares, “Surely this man was the Son of God.” Likewise, the crucifixion of Jesus has reached many of us in ways we never expected. What some thought would be the ultimate defeat only led to the greatest victory the world has ever known.

Marriage 101: Sexual Intimacy

How good is sex? It is a lot better than good and God gave us this great pleasure to be enjoyed by a husband and wife. The trouble is we never really talk openly about the subject in church. Let’s change that and speak about the need for sexual intimacy in the life of every marriage. During this teaching, parents should note that the topic will be discussed with adults in mind;  therefore, it is suggested that parents give guidance regarding attendance.
