Commitment Sunday - Why Us?
Monday Jun 11, 2018
Monday Jun 11, 2018
Have we really made a difference? Has my life touched another life in such way that lasting good was accomplished through it? In 1Thessalonians we find that theThessalonians themselves were the proof of the power of the Gospel that Paul’s life-work represented. Their transformation spoke of the depth with which Christ had touched their hearts. Paul evaluated the value of his work by how his investment in other people had mattered. His motivation was not about himself but by how God had enabled and used him to bring change and transformation in others. In assessing our lives, we must understand how incredibly blessed we have been to be born where we are and have the opportunities we have been afforded. Why us? We may not be certain why we are so remarkably blessed but we can be certain that God desires to use us to utilize those blessings to touch others in His name.

Jesus and Giving
Sunday Jun 03, 2018
Sunday Jun 03, 2018
Let’s begin with a simple truth: For as long as God has had a people He has expected the firstand best from His them. God’s expectation has always been that his people would offer, not only a portion of their resources, but the first and best of their resources to Him in thanksgiving and worship. The tithe was designated as that portion to be given. But, the gift was done with the understanding that all that we have is a response to what He has blessed us with. The principle of stewardship and giving is based on the premise that we, as followers of Jesus, give in response and worship to what God has given to us through His Son. In Mark 12, Jesus takes an unusual position to offer His insights regarding giving. Jesus and giving always makes for an interesting conversation!
